Coffee hazelnut nice cream with fig


It's fig season so I have an abundance of them. They pair very well with hazelnut and coffee as in this recipe. As figs are sweet and gooey they need bitter and creamy to balance out. 

This recipe makes one portion

1 banana, chopped and frozen

2 teaspoons ground coffee

1 tablespoon toasted and ground hazelnut, plus a little to go on top

A splash of dairy free milk

1 large fig, cut into quarters

Simply blend the banana with the coffee, hazelnut and milk with a handblender. To keep it thick you should try to use as little milk as possible, but just enough to give the blender something to work with. 

Put the figs in a bowl, top with the nice cream and a little ground hazelnut.
