This is a very hearty breakfast! Porridge can keep you filled up and powered up for hours but this is a whole new level. Instead of using oats I use ground nuts and flax seeds. Tons of healthy fats and slow releasing energy make this a great breakfast to set you up for a day when you need to be firing on all cylinders. Whether that be walking up a mountain, running several miles or just your regular hectic day!
This recipe makes 1 portion
1 handful hazelnuts
1 handful brazil nuts
1 tablespoon ground flax seed
1 cup dairy free sugar free milk
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
A handful goji berries or other berries
Warm the milk in a pan on a medium heat
Grind the nuts in the chopper attachment of a hand blender
Add the nuts, flax seeds and cinnamon to the pan, heat till just warmed through.
Stir well and pour into a bowl
Top with the berries
